About Me

This blog started off as a way to show off my creative adventures.  Each day was filled with sewing, cooking, dyeing fabrics and other crafty endeavors.  Then I had a baby boy, and all of my time that I had to make things before is . . . GONE!  Now this blog is transitioning to daily mama life, cooking, and still creating when I get the chance.

I enjoy vegetarian cooking, although I started eating fish again after 14 years back in 2008.  Most of my recipes come to light from my own taste palate, using ingredients I have on hand, with less fussy preparation methods and simple flavors. I do have a small collection of cookbooks, occasionally browsed thru for inspiration to strike.  These days, my go-to for mouth watering ideas and techniques, I cruise Foodgawker.   Many trips to the farmers market and weekly deliveries of local fresh milk keeps our kitchen stocked for the inevitable. . . a hungry family!

Since moving to our first home at the beginning of April of this year, I've been harnessing the home-steading trend.  Taking advantage of a garden plot, flower beds and blooming trees, I'm learning how to grow from seed and discovering how fulfilling, although sometimes strenuous, work it can be!  I've canned some of the beautiful Summer bounty so that we may enjoy it when the cold months approach us and to be given to those we love.  I'm looking forward to sharing some of these beautiful canned recipes with you!

Sewing is always in my thoughts, although actually sitting down to do it, is a different story!  Most projects these days are items for my family and home.  I can't believe how low my fabric stash is at this point!  I'm excited to someday bring to fruition, all these artful thoughts circling my mind.  Hopefully sooner than later!
